Birdwatchers flock to Kumana National Park in large numbers. The park is a great place to go bird watching because it has more than 200 different types of birds, both migratory and endemic. When you're on safari in Sri Lanka, you'll be awestruck by the variety of birds that live in the trees and fly in the sky.

The park is also home to a variety of species, including the Asian Elephant, Sri Lankan Leopard, and the extremely rare Sri Lankan Sloth Bear, making it an ideal location for safari excursions for nature and wildlife lovers.

However, the Kumana National Park, which was once part of the Yala National Park, was given its own borders because of an enormous 200-hectare mangrove known as Kumana Villu. As spring and summer arrive, the park is teeming with the chirps of a variety of birds eager to be discovered by nature lovers. Safaris within the park are scheduled early in the morning to take advantage of the park's wildlife viewing opportunities.
