Early morning is the best time to explore the Horton Plains National Park, as the dense fog makes walking through the woodland difficult. From Nuwara Eliya it takes about 30 kilometers to go to the national park at an altitude of 2100-1300 meters above sea level, making it the island's highest adventurous hike.
